#WIFE: You’re Being Refined Not Burned

rose-1751345__340

It may seem like you are going through ‘fire’ but be encouraged, you are not burning, you are ‘goldening’. Is that a word? I just made it up. Goldening because this (whatever it is), won’t get the best of you, God will use it instead, to bring out the best in you.

Just like gold, you are being refined not burned.

Check out these scriptures for some encouragement;

“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” – James 1:2-4 MSG

Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us…” – Romans 5:3-5 AMPC

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. – Isaiah 43:2 AMPC

“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 MSG

Keep trusting God and be encouraged.

#WIFE: Realize How Blessed You Are

Blessed

As the song writer says, “when upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed, when you are discouraged thinking all is lost, count your many blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.”

Not only will it surprise you, it will renew your hope and encourage you to keep trusting Him.

Forget about all of life’s issues stressing you out at the moment and just realize how blessed you are regardless.

He forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases.
He redeems you from death
and crowns you with love and tender mercies.
He fills your life with good things.
Your youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He will not constantly accuse you,
nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish you for all your sins;
he does not deal harshly with you, as you deserve.
For His unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed your sins as far from you
as the east is from the west.
The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.”

(Culled from Psalms 103)

Ah! “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me.” (Psalms 103:1)

Even when things don’t look so good, may we never forget that God is good, that His plans for us are of good and all He allows, is for our ultimate good.

May we never forget that God loves us, He’s with us and He won’t fail us.

May we never forget how blessed we are, regardless.

Be encouraged.

Encouragement For Everyone

#WIFE: Feeling weak, getting frustrated?

Feeling weak? Not just physically now, emotionally, mentally, spiritually maybe?

Getting frustrated, seems like nothing is happening?

Can I encourage and remind you that, God’s got you?  He truly does.

His grace is sufficient

You don’t have to be strong by yourself, you can depend on His grace, His strength.

My soul was practically downcast as I went to church last Sunday, I felt weak and I was on duty in children’s church where I serve. I walk into the class and the kids are in their default full-of-energy-always-excited mode but with the way I was feeling that morning, I wasn’t there for that and I was like guys, please settle down, I don’t have strength for this, this morning.

One of  them, about six years old, responded rather calmly and authoritatively, saying “but God has already healed you.”

I smiled, partly because I felt so proud of him and mostly because I was reminded (even though I didn’t start feeling great immediately) that God is with me.

Isn’t it comforting to know that whatever the ‘trouble’ may be, God is with you, with His favor, loving kindness and mercy?

Dear reader, God has not forgotten about you, He’s faithful and at work in your life.

Yes, sometimes, it gets hard, you feel weak and maybe get frustrated, but always remember that you can rely on Him, even for strength.

Be encouraged.
