Dear future husband

Hello there handsome,

I trust that you are well as I always pray you are.

Where are you though? I mean, are we in the same city right now or in different states?

I’ve been thinking a lot about you lately, wondering what you look like, when we’ll meet, where, how?

I wonder how you’d come up to me and what you will say, I’ll probably respond with a smile as I sometimes do, though in the past , the smile eventually fades when I realize those that came up were only posing as you, they were not you, but I know, I’m sure that the smile you will bring, will come to stay.

Or are we going to bump into each other at the mall, like they do in the movies?

Anyhow, I can’t wait to meet you.

I thought I’d have met you by now though, may be about three years ago or so (as I earlier planned) but it turned out our Father has other plans and I guess it’s better than ours.

Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder why it’s taking so long though…

Perhaps, it’s all the processes God has to take us through first to prepare us for the bigger purpose of our coming together (in marriage) because its not just  about us, right?

And perhaps some personal issues He has to deal with in me and maybe you too.

I’ve learnt that my impatience however, will not cause God to hurry.

He knows when and He’s never late.

You know you are getting one pretty, witty, crazy-in-a-good-way daughter of God and Oh! She loves you already.

I can’t even begin to tell you all the sweet ‘somethings’ I have planned but I promise you are going to be happy and at peace.

Let me apologize upfront for the times I might act up, mess some things up or the day I will bring the car back home with a scratch (big scratch) or a dent, although, sometimes when I’m acting up, I’m just fronting, say something funny, tickle me or something and you’ve got me but even if we have to fight sometimes, let’s do so holding hands.

I’m really looking forward to learning of you as you learn of me…

You might not understand why I literally break down in tears when watching a movie, well, I don’t get it either or why I keep laughing days or weeks after hearing or seeing something funny or why I… anyways…

Its all smiles when I think about you though memories from my past sometimes make me cringe but then I’m comforted because I know that just like our Father, you will love me – past my past, for my now, into my future and as imperfect as I am, I’m perfect for you.

I pray for you always.

I even have conversations with you already, (yea, I told you I’m crazy, lol).

Oh, the joy that will come that morning, when you ‘wake up’ and the sun of our love begins to rise, it will shine brighter and brighter to God’s glory.

I’m going to have a big sign up in our house (if you don’t mind) saying “It was worth the wait”.
